SOLAR TECHNICIAN

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on the entire process, from Initial site assessment, design planning, development, pulling permits, installation and all the way to commissioning the system.
  • As Solar Technician, you will be our main point of contact on the ground and will be closely involved in the entire process of assisting customers in going solar.
  • Install & service solar system (Panels, Inverters, Racking, Monitoring, wiring, disconnects. etc.), energy storage equipment, EV charging stations as needed.
  • Able to lift and install solar equipment both on the roof and ground.
  • Must have Drivers License and able to drive as needed.
  • Lift and carry about 50 to 60 pounds up the ladder and work comfortably on roof as needed.
  • Assist with trenching, pouring concrete and equipment assembly.
  • The primary goal of the Solar Technician is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and lucrative solar PV operation. The Solar Technician is responsible for providing corrective, preventative, and emergency maintenance and operations for solar PV systems and associated equipment.
  • Perform tests, record measurements, and troubleshoot the system.
  • Capable of using heavy machinery, such as lifts, cranes, forklifts, augers, etc., and obtaining necessary training.
  • Be a team player, communicate, and work together with the other team members.
  • Document the project using images, reports, and ongoing documentation.
  • While carrying out his or her duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use their hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, reach objects with their arms and hands, climb or balance objects, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as talk and hear.
  • Regularly update top management on the status of projects and deliver reports and status updates.
  • Willingness to get trained and certified.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years electrical and at least 1+ year of Solar experience
  • Experience with Solar & Storage products
  • Ability to travel (overnight) 50%+ of the time (Per Diem provided)
  • Current, valid Driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
  • Must be comfortable working in PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
  • Exercises a high level of professionalism and a positive demeanor.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and multimeter
  • Experience reading, interpreting blueprints/schematics/wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and be resourceful
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Computer skills to include MS Office Suite
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job to include:
    • Lift/carry up to 50lbs repeatedly.
    • Sit, stand, walk, and drive to job sites.
    • Reach, kneel, push, pull, squat, crawl, bend, twist, climb.
    • Rooftop work
    • Work in various weather conditions
