Srinergy unveils new name, logo and website

DETROIT, Mich. (November 16, 2011) – Srinergy, a Michigan-based company formerly known as SRI Energy, has launched a website at www.Srinergy.com to unveil its new name and logo.

“When I launched the company, we were very much focused on design, engineering and installation of solar energy systems for our residential and commercial clients,” said Prasad Gullapalli, president and founder of Srinergy, located in Novi, Michigan. “This hasn’t changed. However, with several installations completed and new ones underway, our new company name, logo and website help us to more readily showcase who we are and what we do.”

It was important for Gullapalli that the first three letters of the company’s name remain unchanged. “SRI” stands for “socially responsible individual” to give emphasis to the company’s offering of green energy solutions to individuals and organizations that are socially responsible.

Along with providing customized solar energy systems for commercial and residential installations, Srinergy offers pre-designed “solar kits” that are designed to meet average energy consumption needs for different customers.

“These kits fill a need for ‘do it-yourself’ homeowners and others who know their energy consumption usage and are ready to go ‘green’ quickly,” added Gullapalli. Srinergy also provides solar thermal systems for hot water tanks to help lower utility bills and reduce energy consumption.

Srinergy finances many of its own projects, including the ability to finance projects through GE Capital with 0% down payment required. Along with servicing a wide variety of clients including non-profit organizations, the company works with local trade associations, municipalities, building and development authorities, and neighborhood associations. For more information, visit www.Srinergy.com or call 248-254-6477.

SRI Energy schedules installation at City Hall

DETROIT, Mich. (October 4, 2011) – In the small industrial community of River Rouge, Mich., the City’s administration and departments, including police and fire, all operate out of the City Hall building, located at 10600 West Jefferson Avenue. Unlike other municipalities, River Rouge’s City Hall is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

“The electric meter is always running,” said River Rouge Mayor Michael Bowdler, who looks forward to the energy savings that the City will receive with the installation of solar panels on the roof of City Hall later this month. “This opportunity wouldn’t be possible without a $42,000 grant from the Michigan Suburb Alliance and additional financing from SRI Energy which won the bid to design and install the system.”

SRI Energy, a Michigan based company, will install 60 U.S. manufactured solar panels, for the 13.5 kW system. Over 25 years it is projected that SRI Energy’s Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system design for River Rouge will generate 400.325 Mwh of energy. This is equivalent to planting 25 acres of forest, avoiding the production of 287.2 metric tons of carbon dioxide, or powering 13,614 homes for 24 hours.

In addition to the solar panel installation, SRI Energy will provide a wall-mount kiosk in the building’s lobby that will give City employees, residents and visitors an opportunity to view the amount of energy that the solar system generates on a real time basis and also the environmental contribution of the system to the community.

“Along with energy cost savings, this system will help us to reduce our carbon footprint and create a healthier environment for our workers and residents,” said Mayor Bowdler. “The monitoring system for public viewing will also serve as an excellent educational tool.”

The Mayor also credits his City Commissioners for the project’s approval, and the Michigan Public Service Commission for investing more than $30 million to help communities with these energy programs.

“Without grants or incentives, and financing from companies like SRI Energy, municipalities like ours wouldn’t be able afford this type of energy saving project.”

DETROIT, Mich. (July 25, 2011) – Built 103 years ago in Detroit’s East Riverfront area, The Elevator Building at 1938 Franklin has undergone a significant transformation over the past few years from an empty, crumbling industrial building to fully leased offices for small businesses.

Helping to fulfill the mission of The Elevator Building’s owners, The Detroitist Group, to be environmentally conscientious, SRI Energy of Novi is scheduled to begin installation of solar panels on the south facing roof in August.

“We’re continually seeking innovative ways to lower our carbon footprint and offer cost saving benefits,” said Randy Lewarchik, an owner and partner of The Detroitist Group. “The solar panels will be used to generate electricity for common areas that are available to our tenants such as the kitchen and showering facilities.”

For SRI Energy, which provides design and installation for small to large scale residential and commercial projects, the installation is an opportunity to help people understand that solar energy has a wide span of uses and is not limited to new construction.

According to Prasad Gullapalli, founder of SRI Energy, LLC, each project begins with a site evaluation, development of a design that meets each client’s energy and budget needs, assistance with local government permits along with seeking opportunities for state and federal grant subsidies. It is projected that the Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system design for The Elevator Building will generate 760 megawatts of energy which is equivalent to consuming 1,260 barrels of oil or avoiding the production of 545 metric tons of carbon dioxide.

Lewarchik is confident that The Elevator Building can become a model for other Detroit buildings, demonstrating how business owners and developers can cost effectively implement green initiatives to stimulate new business and revitalize urban areas in Detroit.
